It was the end of April, when temperatures were beginning to rise. Not so hot that it was uncomfortable, but warm enough to make one drowsy.
They lay tangled in the cool sheets all morning. Finally they roused themselves to get bowls and a carton of ice cream from the freezer. Now they sat, their legs stretched before them, Touya’s right knee resting lightly against Yukito’s left. Spoons clinked lightly against glass in the delicate silence.
“Mmm,” Yukito murmured sleepily. “What are we going to do this summer?”
“Eat a lot of ice cream,” Touya replied, holding out a spoonful.
