Phillip was ready for a distraction from his work. Normally he found it fulfilling, but today it just felt as though he were waiting on something (more than likely for it to be time for him to go home,) so James's call was a welcome distraction.

He chuckled at his friend's words. It was good to hear James laugh, and if his secretary was the reason behind his friend's amusement...well that was fine with Phillip. "Yes, I hired Cathleen strictly so that she can multitask. There's nothing that will make me a million dollars more quickly than having a 900 number business on the side."

He swiveled in his chair, turning it so that it was facing the window instead of the desk. It looked ridiculous to have the phone cord stretched so, but even now he was keeping his personal tale friends separate from his work life by not typing away at the computer or working on paperwork while talking to them. It wasn't even something he realized he was doing. "So, old man, have the mutts decided to warm up to you yet?"
