There's a new critter who's just moved into the compound. Please ignore him if he attempts to bum a cigarette from you. He's trying to quit, and the second-hand smoke aggravates Ginger's asthma something fierce. Please don't enable his bad habits!*

*He knows where the smoking section is. He's just not willing to pass the Kraken to get to it.

DO you have a preference? Older than you? Younger than you? At least X or at the most Y?

(real-life or celebrity/fictional crushes)

For men, generally quite a bit younger, around 18-25. For women, closer to my age or a little older, usually 28-40.

Up until recently I was always more attracted to people older than me, or at least within a couple of years of my age. I would even sometimes think that someone I was attracted to was younger than me, only to find out that they weren't actually (Zoe Saldana in the Star Trek reboot for one).

But then Dylan O'Brien. :/

Men aged 40-60, on television/film. Has a lot to do with charisma and acting ability, versus their largely dull prettyboy younger counterparts.

In real life...attracted to so few people that it's difficult to track trends. Sometimes men in my age group (early 30s now), occasionally women, sometimes 10+ years older. NEVER people below 25, though, even when I was that young.

In RL, either slightly older than me (by 1-2 years) or much older (by 30+ years). Teachers and instructors seem to be my go-to for vague admiration!crushes. People who are younger than me are a total no-go; they just don't do it for me, and in the rare occasion I've been somebody else's Cool Older Crush I feel totally weird about it.

In media and with celebrities, it's usually folks who are 20+ years older than me; crushing on actors who are closer to my age always feels odd to me, since I still conceptualize them as being younger -- probably because they tend to get cast as younger characters.

No one cares. Could mods please just go away and give critters to people who ask for them not to people who happened to start a thread early?

I'm sorry it annoys you, and I understand, but I already tried it your way. It turned out that just because nonnies didn't ask, did NOT mean they didn't care.

Older than me, and the upper limit increases a lot faster than I age.

But I'm getting old enough that I should also be able to consider people younger than me; it still feels weird though.

Around my age or something like 5 to 10 years older. I have a problem with shows that have characters who are supposed to be in their late teens/early twenties because the actors are normally quite older than that, closer to my own age, so my brain cannot match up the 25 years old playing a 19 yo and then I feel guilty. But yeah, irl, I've been with like one guy younger than me and it's not how I usually roll.

In real-life i go for guys my own age or a few years older. When it comes to fictional/celebrity crushes I like them to be between 40 and 60. I have a huge thing for hot guys with gray hair.

It's not about their age, it's about their sense of humor. I tend to crush really hard on people I find both attractive and funny, whatever their age.

But to be honest I felt kind of bad the first time I heard Dylan O'Brien's age. Not that there's that much of a difference but hum. Still. Easier to crush on older men.
