What happened last Halloween, to not want it to be exciting?

A great number of things, really. Creatures wandered the ship days before Halloween, dangerous ones, and there was a great beast that seemed to lead them; I can't remember who killed it.

People also became their costumes, come the 'party' that was held. It was... overwhelming, to say the least.
