It is cold here. Freakishly cold, I tell you. Not like it is in New York or the Midwest, no, but still very cold. With wind chill, it's eight degrees. It's supposed to get down to eight degrees without wind chill tonight. With wind chill, it will almost certainly be below zero

Cute shoes. I like. My boots are dying on me, and it saddens me. One of these days I will get myself another pair.
When I come we are going to spend a day pampering ourselves and doing whatever we want and not feel guilty about it. What I would give for flat abs... You are an amazing and beautiful woman! Don't forget it!

Thank you! Nice boots are such a necessity. I actually have rather too many pairs of boots, but I do love them. Except for the aforementioned, hideous, square-toed black ones.
Yes! I agree. Let's. Although I have to say, you arriving on Saturday would greatly facilitate that endeavour.
Thank you. Sorry for going all self-pitying there. I'm feeling a million times better now. *rueful smile*

As for arriving on Saturday, if I get into New York eary that might be an possibility. I would so love to go to church with you, or even at all for that matter but especially with you. Or was there something else you had in mind?

Church would be fab, of course - I love introducing my friends to my church, and vice versa - but I was thinking that it would be easier to have a day to spoil ourselves if it were a weekend day. A weekday could be somewhat trickier to manage.

I'm writing dearest, yes I am writing. Our little chat helped immensely (and was fun too!). Throwing historical accuracy out the window is ever so lovely.

Whee! Houston, we have ignition! I'm so glad our conversation helped. But wait. Didn't we agree back before we started that we weren't going to bother with research or historical accuracy?

Yes, yes, we agreed, but when your letter arrived it was incredibly reality-based. I did rather a lot of research so I would be comfortable writing in that time period, but then (as you know) I got bogged down with the implausibility of the premise. I couldn't make the story work AND keep it accurate. You relieved me of this impossible task during our chat.
I scratched everything, started over, and am having a marvelous time!

I'm glad we've got it straightened out now. And especially glad that you're having fun with it!
