Hello, internet! I have been busy and distracted with AWESOMENESS and have not been telling you about it! This should be remedied posthaste! (I have been telling Twitter and Tumblr and my mother in spurts because there I can narrate in little bursts as things happen and needn't settle down to describe everything, and since everything has been ( Read more... )

I love EVERYTHING about this post, but oh man, your newfound addiction to Baldur's Gate takes the cake. I LOVE THAT GAME (and series). And have loved it for, oh, a good 12 years. Now I just want to stay home from work and journey through the Realms with my party of supreme awesome. (Or maybe start up a BG1 game again...hmmmm....)

Yay :)

AUGH WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT stupid omniscient voice; the first time it happened I thought I was running into some new horror.

BUT YES. I AM MADLY IN LOVE WITH THIS GAME; Calli has me playing BGII first because... it's an easier introduction to video gaming, I guess? Also her favourite and my computer has limited space so if I really love it I can clear more stuff off to make room for BGI.

BUT IT IS THE GREATEST and I'm pissed at those stupid Cowled Wizards for stealing my darling Imoen I'M COMING FOR YOU SWEETIE. Am already too emotionally involved in everything and enjoying battle strategy (FREAKING VAMPIRES). YAY. :D

Ooh, another BG fan! Yeah, Calli got me addicted too; I've played through both parts of BGII and all of BG1 (except Tales of the Sword Coast, 'cause...I downloaded it after I installed Tutu and all my mods, which would be a giant pain to do again) and written a BG1 fic...and even though I started ToB months ago, I only just finished it, like, last week. Because I was putting off the final fight that long because I knew how much of a pain it would be. >_<

It's so much fun being epic, though. And hanging out with Minsc; that never gets old.

::grumbles:: Oh, this really does mean that I've got to figure out how to partition my stupid hard drive properly and install stupid Windows so I can play stupid video games for free (yay for friend who says I can log into his Steam account and play stuff as long as I leave it in offline mode so he can use it too) oh dear this will end badly.

ALSO traveling these are all the things I love about it and I don't know how I will bear waiting another month and a half for my own summer adventures. C'est la guerre though.

I am *so* glad you are having a lovely time, and you should post more about it because I love reading your thrilled ramblings. :D

Yes. Yes it does. WE ARE WATCHING YOU.

I AM SELFISHLY GLAD THAT YOU HAVE ANOTHER MONTH AND A HALF TO GO; sneaking off away just as I finally got back would be mean. ^-^

Ooh ooh does he have Portal? Because it is pretty much the best thing ever.

I would also definitely suggest whichever Fallout games will work on your computer--Fallout 2 is from roughly the same era as BGII and will work on a non-gaming computer, while Fallout 3 or New Vegas might be iffier, depending on your specs. Although I guess if your computer can handle Portal without lagging much, it should be okay with at least Fallout 3. I've only played the first chunk of that game and about half of the first (like, from 1997) Fallout game, and while I love the overall world and aesthetic, I wouldn't really recommend the first game unless you fall in love with the whole franchise, because the gameplay is...painful. BG is relatively intuitive once you get used to it.

Trying to think of other games to suggest...oh! I found a torrent of the first two DW Adventure Games that actually works outside the UK, so that exists. Apparently Knights of the Old Republic is another really good game too.

I believe he does - I hope so, anyway, because I want to play it.

Ooh, could you perhaps link me to this torrent? O.O
