pretty things to chase away the january gloom

The super fantastic barefoottomboy (who sent me a microphone which I have spent much of this afternoon testing out, as can be evidenced over on come_all_ye) suggested that I take pictures of some of my favourite things. I changed the prompt around a little to fifteen pictures of things that make me happy, and I now foist them upon you unsuspecting lot. (I have also done ( Read more... )

Your photos that make you happy make me happy. ^_^ guh, those fingerless mittens are gorgeous, and your accessories and clothes and books and everything, I want them! and hee, I laughed a lot more at your cats than I thought possible, it's just they looked so cute - they've perfected their pleading, eh? :)

and one day you'll have to have a tutorial on how to vintage-ise your photos. I love bokeh and light leaks and flares and things, but I have no idea how to use them well, and then there's colouring on top of that!

I always laugh at my cats. Of course they are heartless creatures and will not let me snuggle them whenever I want to, but they are MY KITTIES. ^-^

Ooh, most of my light leak flare stuff I got from editing with this programme -- I've collected a lot of free programmes over the years.

Jo!!!!!!! I played around with a photo and now it's my Facebook profile photo. ^^ How astoundingly easy to play around with, as well. I had no idea these programs existed. And it even makes me want to use my toy camera more often too! ty ♥

Kitties! I often pine for one. :D

These pictures are so lovely. I think I want to do this now. (also the cats look so demanding! as always.)

Hooray for happy things! So many pretty bits and pieces - I love the coffee mug and the necklace hanger and the fingerless gloves and the hat and the book, and well, basically everything. ;-)

Also reading gargoyle bookends, omg.

I know, right? My dad gets the splendidest presents, really. I only regret that I have to keep them hidden in the closet all the time (as I have nowhere else to put books, except in piles on and next to the bed).

Oh, everything is so beautiful! Your room, your clothes, your things (I especially love your Heritage Book of Ballads) are all so fairy-esque, so elegant. Reading this post is like taking a journey through an ethereal, otherworldly place, so thank you for that.

And now I really, really want a chocolate chocolate chip cupcake.

(Also, new layout! It's quite lovely.)

Hooray! I like to pretend that I live in a fairy tale. Only one of the nicer ones, without people sawing off their toes or dying of cold or wandering around blinded in the forest for years or giving one's children to witches or what have you.

(I really want a chocolate chocolate chip cupcake too. Everyone ate them. Everyone ate the second batch. Curses!)

YAY FAIRY LIGHTS. Man, I need to do something about mine--they're strung wrong and should really be going the exact opposite way so the plug would be near the plug-in by my bed, because then I'd use them every night before I go to sleep, but I didn't think of that when I put them up and I really don't want to take them all down and put them all back up again. Especially when we're sure to be moving in the next several months, ugh. Also, your book closet and proper closet look much more interesting than mine. Well, you know that, because you saw mine. >_<

Also also you should put that cupcake picture up on Flikr or something, mostly because the colors are so awesome (I hearted it, heh).

Hee, my fairy lights were originally strung all around the room, except they stayed up for approximately half an hour before the hooks started giving way. I kept them that way for maybe a week, but got sick of having to fix them all the time.

My closet isn't actually that much more interesting than yours. I mean, it's a closet. With stuff in it. :P

But all the colors and patterns and...shelves with actual room for your books! My clothes just look sort of...boring. And messy. And yet I still keep buying MORE, what is WRONG WITH ME.
