Well told. Channeling the rage or rather learning to channel it is important. I hope she endures. With a friend like you to help her, at least she has someone who won't put the blame on her.

I don't quite know what to say, but I'm too moved to say nothing. Well told.

I understand the rage; I just wonder how your friend could go to that gathering being so afraid, so feeble.

The family needed her to arrive, brave, unafraid, like a warrior. Oh if only! Imagine if she could have burst in and been that strong woman. When she comes back see what you can do to empower her, if that is what she wants? would be nice if it changed... She is obviously so put down by them.

Our society seems to thrive on sexual violence. There are TV shows about it, and people seem to love watching the high drama and overexaggerated emotions displayed there. I don't think they bother to stop and consider how the fictional assaults downplay the emotional scars and life-changing trauma.

Taylor Stevens is amazing. Vanessa's character thrills me. She is who every woman wants to have at her side, and maybe, she's who some of us long to be.

This was incredibly well-written. Thank you for such a deeply personal story.
