What truly blows me away, is that they look forward to the so called prophecies made in Revelations. It is absolutely astonishing to me to here.

I might just post it there. It needs to be cleaned up a little first -- but I am glad you approve! ;)

Well written for sure. I am not sure if you have read Nietzsche's philosophy but this is pretty well the conclusion he came to. That religious people really hate this life and look to the next, while Nietzsche had a great love for life and everything in it. Ironically the Christians who often attacked him and his philosophy hold the same bitterness and hatred towards Nietzsche which Christ himself said they must rid themselves. Another irony is the fact that Nietzsche actually appreciated Christ and said 'The only Christian in history died on the cross'. A brief aphorism on how hypocritical Christians are. By wayword pastors and religious clerics charging their members to go forth and convert others or they themselves may not get into heaven for being sufficient Christians is, I believe, where a lot of the trouble starts. By having this mindset they are doomed from the start to enjoy life, to not live and let live. This is the same problem that mankind has struggled with over the ages and has left a terrible scar in our collective

You are always right. You always have been. anonymous May 23 2008, 23:18:07 UTC
Nietzsche pragmatism is fine and good. In the end let us study Lucretius in his work De Rerum Natura for a fitting response: Nil fieri ex nihilo, in nihilum nil posse reverti.
