If you do wind up adopting a greyhound, you should be friends with the (totally local and totally awesome) bubblesutonium. She is all super-knowledgeable about greyhounds and hers are super-cute, too. :)

I enjoy speculating as to your original first name. I think perhaps you must be a superhero hiding your identity.

If you need a friend-who-is-a-parent reference on being a non-psycho childfree, let me know, I'll give it to you.

She's definitely a superhero. I'll vouch for the non-psycho part.

Is your Smart black? With two dents in the back bumper? With a cowboy hat on the dashboard? Driving east on 8th, turning north on 148th, sometime around 6:00 this evening?

If so, I think I was driving behind you on 8th before you turned.

No, I'm not stalking you. I noticed the dents first.

we are the same age and I do not have children. Should I be worried that people might assume I am psycho? I didn't really get that statement.

The people in the LJ communities such as childfree have a reputation, as a collective, for being not just lacking in the desire for children, but flat-out hostile toward children and parents for no reason other than their existence. Therefore I distinguish between being childfree, which is the easiest and quickest shorthand to say "I don't have children, nor do I ever want to have children," and being crazy internet childfree in the same way that one might say "I'm a Christian, but I'm not a super conservative Bible thumper."
