Meme Response: Uneasy Lies The Head

1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some tv show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal.

(#4 is optional)

all-knowing all-seeing Welshmen! dynastic politics! well-thought-out speculation (historical and mental)!

for a show like this {particularly for this show} I would subscribe to Showtime.

would Rome's representative show up in season 2? (tries not to think of what the Inquisition would do with dreamwalking)

i love Uneasy lies the head - the show, the title (nice double meaning there), the characters and cast. perfect.

ps: I surrender.

Heh, thinking out alternative Tudor histories has become something of a specialty, not to mention that after Inception came out I desperately wanted a fic with Tudor-era dreamwalking.

As for Rome's rep... Oh God, I didn't even think of that. Mary is probably trying to get in touch with someone in Rome, so that would be interesting. And the Vatican definitely had an ambassador in England even after the Great Matter.

Title shamelessly jacked from Shakespeare and subsequently a Jean Plaidy novel on Henry VII, but it seemed to fit. And it has to be Showtime. Aside from them already doing so well with one Tudors show, you know someone's going to end up in bed, be it Elian/Mary, Elizabeth/Julien, or, hey, who knows... Anne/Llywelyn?

Of course, someone out there would ship Henry/Edward, but let's not think about that.

Hmm... How about tracking criminals through the multiverse? Sci-fi/crime drama. :D

I think Rome was heartbroken - Henry was one of their greatest defenders, after all, even against Martin Luther...and look what happened.

maybe so, but you use the title better than some Bard.

Lifetime might pick it up too - owing to all the strong women in the show. (maybe like what SyFy and some other networks do - one airs each ep a week or three after the other network does)

It could be worse. Someone might decide Edward makes a good sparkly vampire.

ah, excellent, I accept.

Poor Clement was stuck between Henry VIII and Charles V, and basically either option was bad for him.

Lifetime... Maybe. They tend to be more about the 'abused woman escapes' or 'woman triumphs over misogyny' tropes, or at least their movies are - a great message in both cases, but there's only so many ways to tell either story. The shows have more variety but SyFy might be a better bet for this one. :D

Oh God. And yet, he would likely still be paired with Henry, who would idolize his sparkly skin and self-loathing stalkerness. Or something.

I just discovered the scary/wonderful part of inventing these shows - imagine the potential fandoms.

Oooh. Your version of alternate history would be absolutely fascinating to watch.

...

You're going to wind up actually writing this at some point, aren't you? ;)
