What was so offensive about Barney? I admit he's annoying, but how did he ever get offensive?

They've introduced this thing called Barney's travel book. They travel to other parts of the world and play into the worst stereotypes I have ever seen and all in all while the lesson themselves might be good ones, the portrayal of other cultures gets borderline offensive.
