AND AND AND: "It (Livejournal) indeed was mentioned at one point so I showed him and had him mark it so that he could find it easier. He then asked if that’s the platform where fadefamily have their account. I said “EXACTLY!!” And he told me that they had actually been checking the site because it was so well made! Fade live Sendai JONBOX 2012.10.29 (OK by now I noticed the massive typo fail in the title but it's too hilarious to be changed X'D #blameJON)
The most honest way to express my feelings about yesterday night would be:
“Mgcmhg jh ,khj ,jf mhgd,jh,jhf ……. OMG >.<”
I did promise though to take you along with me on a journey again. I can’t leave it this way, can I?! ;)
Journey and first preparations:
I took the train from Watanoha to Ishinomaki and then the bus from there to Sendai. Compared to 7 hours ride to Tokyo 2 hours are really nice. Especially if you have the time to sew your t-shirt for the concert. If you wonder why one would do this, just wait a little longer.
However: I had hoped to be in the best shape for the LIVE since Sendai is so close. In the end I was way more exhausted because I ended up on a deer-rescuing mission the day before.
To put it short: One of the volunteers had his day off and went for a walk. He returned reporting about a deer caught up in a net. So I joined him with two more people. We had to climb through wild forest for an hour to then spend a long while kneeling over the deer in the mud with shaking hands and rain soaking us while struggling to cut it free. In the end we managed and the horribly weak deer stumbled away a few steps to sit down next to a bush and rest while we retreated. We got lost in the forest at night, found our way in the end but were forced to slide down a hill, climb over a fence and then down a wall.
Here some raw uncut video footage and climbing pics.
. . .In Sendai I made my way to my hostel. If you ever need it then check it out.
It’s the Miyagi Guest House (Sendai) 2-1-35 Kakyouin, Aoba-ku,sendai-shi, Sendai Tel: +81-022-7788-965
Price for a night in mixed-ender 6 bed room is ¥2500 and ¥2000 discount if you stay longer than 3 nights. They have a PC with free WiFi and the common room, baths, toilets and kitchen are very nice. Bit hard to find so you really better check directions well. . .
. . .Getting into outfit:
I decided to get into outfit again. I sew the fade t-shirt at the back to give it a more feminine shape, added a ribbon over my arm, painted my arm again and I had prepared a glove before with rhinestones. . .
.
.
. . .
The venue:
Don’t go without map and better have two of them. *lol* it’s actually easy to find but if you get slightly lost then it’s hard to get back on track without map. It’s a lesson I had to learn once more. XD I did find the venue in time though.
Seriously, that house was scary. It looked a bit abandoned inside. I went for the stairway but after a while with heavy metal doors without sign I returned and used the elevator. It brought me right to the underground floor. An underground floor with walls pasted in band posters. I was walking around, saw some small restaurants and luckily ran into the Japanese ST girls I had met in Tokyo before. Together we searched for the entrance (which was a door slightly hidden in between the posters *lol* We were early but the staff kindly handed over our tickets and let us enter the venue soon after. Before that I took a pic of the program. Seeing fade as final made me happy. I couldn’t have guessed at that time HOW happy. . .
.
. .The other artists:
It started with a shock. As the live started we were around 8 people maybe? We hoped though that more people would come for fade and formed a first row to support the artists.
For heaven’s sake I saw EVERYTHING that night. From funny to HELP TOO LOUD x_X to weird to “WOW nice!” to “OMG asmhfwmdfmhafs fade what are you doing with us”!
First artist: A guy and his guitar. He wasn’t too good if it came to his singing skills, yet he was funny and singing about eating too much and similar stuff. I have to be careful because of my not-yet-good Japanese. ^_~
Plastic Girl In Closet: Maybe they were quite OK, but they were so noisy that some of us had to plug their ears. It was a three man band with guitarist, female base player and male drummer. She and the guitarist would sing too. The guitarist would love to stumble around and create massive noise which didn’t show off his skill to be honest. Please fix your sound or don’t let me hear you again!
Third artist: A young women on a chair with lots of lyric-sheets on her music stand and her guitar for the first song. Then she had a pianist join her. She would sing two English songs too but I can’t remember the names. She was not the best singer but enjoyable. She did behave a bit strangely though. She’d talk very slow and I think she made some weird comments. Some people in the audience would throw comments or questions at her and laugh. Not in an offending way though. Everybody was enjoying themselves in a livingroom-like atmosphere. Some more people had co in by that time.
. . .You might want to check this band out. They were really good. We had a lot of fun rocking with them. Some of the Japanese girls seemed a bit tired but me and the Japanese girl I had get to know that night were enjoying ourselves to the fullest. . .
. . .At some point they’d talk to us about the new release and suddenly the guitarist (right side on the flyer) would ask me in English if I was enjoying myself so far. I answered that I am enjoying myself and he responded with “Oh so Japanese is fine?” (in Japanese). I did not realize that I had answered in Japanese. So I said that I can talk it a bit. *lol* This sure was surprising XD. The guitarist was very lively. He would come to the front often and motivate us to cheer more. We were clapping our hands to the beat and move our bodies. He really seemed to have enjoyed how lively we were.
Fade:
On stage the fade staff got ready for the show. . .
. . .Off stage the few fans were getting ready to give out everything to make the hall shake for fade regardless of our little number. . .
. . .Yes, this is it. In the first row there are around 6 more girls including me and then these people. Some of the fadeFamily members had Halloween costumes on with their shirts and they had these nice non-permanent tattoos on their hands. Nice job ladies! . .
. Stolen from one of the lady's twitter accounts ;) . .They had also brought small packages of sweets. I ended up talking with one of the girls that the band would surely get scolded for eating them all, yet we both completely conclude in that Rui was not supposed to be scolded since he is the skinniest and needs a lot of energy. ;D
You know, when the hall is so empty and you really love a band, then a miracle happens. When the opening music started we were cheering with all our might for the band. And they’d come out to greet us with big smiles.
. . .This live was the best fade live I went to so far. Actually…..even after YFC and GACKT I wonder if in the end it wasn’t the best live concert I’ve ever been to.
Because we were few we would go for it without an inch being held back. And the band caught fire the moment they stepped on stage. They reacted to our honest effort with rocking as hard as I’ve never seen them before. They were moving a lot across the stage and every move would express the “high tension” as Japanese people call it. As you see in the pictures we were presented a lead singer in his best shape and hottest style on top.
Sorry, I feel like I should notice this but Jon was in his best shape. Speaking body-wise this time although he was in good shape all in all. Compared to him shirtless with YFC his body shape seems to have changed. With YFC he had more muscles, almost too much for my taste. His upper body made a slightly edgy and hard impression. Now he looks perfectly balanced. Someone should ask him to get a licence for shirtless appearance because the view sure is dangerous for a lady’s heart ;)
[End of “Pat Jon’s ego”-section]
As you can imagine we were singing along. I’m surprised my voice didn’t get hoarse. The band would push us further and further, asking for more and more and we would give it. I was dancing, jumping and singing so hard that sometimes I’d lose balance and would just keep me upright by holding on tightly to the barricade. Sometimes I would simply run out of breath and still carry on. At other times I was concentrating on certain singing passages so hard that I entirely had to start moving.
5° was a blast. He wasn’t just smiley, he was unwind and let his joy flow in masses. One of the Japanese girls would later ask me if she was the only one noticing how he was way more outgoing than usual. I could only confirm. Something happened with all of us yesterday. Thinking of it now it was love. Must sound weird, but it was like a living room and family with all their members openly expressing their love towards each other. We were living this moment as if there is no after. Maybe it is just me feeling this way, but actually even IF it was just me it’s an experience forever carved in my heart and body.
5° manages to keep his hat till almost the end btw. Just towards the end he’s rock so hard that it’d fall down. He showed amazing skill by stepping backwards and giving the hat a kick with the heel that would kick it to the off *lol*. I also noticed for the first time that 5° is taking a bow during beautiful to play his guitar with it. I was shocked I hadn’t noticed before. At the other hand there is so much to see.
Kansei had his fun yesterday. *lol* We’d give him a huge share of attention and properly react to his signals of raising our hands or cheer or to sing long. As always he’d end up close with Jon several times, leaning against each other. So adorable!
I absolutely failed to catch Nori’s eyes that night but I’d make up for it later.
Rui………..he seemed to beat his soul out of his body at the drums. And as the live ended he looked drained as he jumped up and left stage. I can’t help but say I felt a bit worried for him that night. But more on that later.
With this small amount of fans the exchange of looks, smiles, winks and other communication was intense *lol*. I enjoyed heaps of 5° contact (without body contact *lol*) and it’s always nice when Jon sings at you, ne! In between the songs we were rarely getting silent, just one, I think it was after Eve Free, we WANTED to cheer but instead we would all be standing and panting hard, filling our lungs with breath, muttering “Ah, atsui!” (=hot). Jon, hearing us, answered with “Yeah it’s hot huh?”. By that time he had gotten rid of his leather jacket already.
After LIVE ~ A chapter full of joy.
After the live everybody had to take a bit of rest first *lol* I simply sank down to the ground and was breathing. Breathing the air I lacked after massive cheers to see the band off stage. Especially for Kansei who was last and Handed a pick to fans so everybody made sure to not leave him walk on stage without some noise ;D. While the staff rushed on stage to get packed the Japanese girl were inviting them to take a cookie out of their Halloween bags. It was so kind of them. The staff also handed over the setlist I took a picture of. Kansei got back on stage for a moment to pick something up but on the way back he would hand out another setlist.
Kansei and Nori were the only ones (besides their staff) at the goods table for a while. We were not too surprised about Rui and 5° missing although we had hoped for them since there was no crowd in the sense of much people. I was talking with one of the girls and strangely enough: When it came to Rui we were not minding him much, we both expressed the same thought instead: the hope that he’s allright because we both thought he’s missing because he must be exhausted. I find it interesting how we both felt rather worried than disappointed. I went over to the table to greet the guys and hand over the document of the ST moderators on the official fade STForum as well as Sandy’s letter. They greeted back and Nori took letter and document with a thanks, giving it a short look before carefully placing it down on the chair since fans were coming to have their thins signed. Kansei smiled brightly and said “Oh you are from Germany, right?!” ^_____^ Dawww.
I was standing at the side for a while watching. As the chance was there I stepped up to Nori and looked closer at his earring. He noticed and told me it’s a small dragon. I really like that one. He then looked closely at my ears, or rather: my hand at my ear underneath my hair since I had unintentionally gotten hold of my own earring while looking at his. I showed him my ear and said that it’s onyx stone and that I’m full of it *lol* while pointing at my bracelets and necklace. “So It’s all the same stone then!”. I confirmed and then ended up remembering something. I said that there was one exception and reached into my pocket to pull out the 5° bird XD That made him laugh. He had seen it on the net.

____________________________________________________________I ended up talking quite long with Nori. For some reason something felt different than the last time but at that I couldn’t make out the reason yet. I asked him if there is someone I can talk to because of fadeFamily. The FC event was a couple of days ahead and I had neither Keychain, nor t-shirt nor had I gotten an confirmation e-mail yet about the ticket. He was shocked and said that he’s going to get me someone to talk to. I asked him about the fade staff. He told me that when they’re on the road they’d take 3-4 staff members with them. He told me there might be more staff members for the FC event. But in general he said he thinks the management has around 30 to 40 people taking care of several bands and that they are assigned to different tasks. So basically it’s just as I thought: Not much staff to take care of all the work.
I stepped back to make place for other fans and leaned back against a wall to watch them for another while. Jon had joined by that time. I didn’t see too much of Kansei because the others were in front of him, yet I had a good view on Jon, Nori and the staff member who’s always with them. I watched Jon receiving a very nicely wrapped present (sth. to eat?) and his bright smile. He picked it up after having it placed down to let the fan take a picture. He got scolded by the staff after the second time of letting fans take a picture. :’D This particular staff is quite an attractive guy and he is very considerate and hardworking, but he also is a little bit strict. I guess he can’t help it since it’s his job.
If you ever get the chance, make sure to watch too. It’s really enjoyable how they get into contact with fans and enjoy themselves. They really had their hearts open wide that night. Jon reacted very passionate to fans. He and Nori would huggle some of the girls. But then I suddenly understood while talking to Nori had felt different. He didn’t have his cool expression any longer. He was smiling and grinning, showing lots of interest. Seeing this made me very happy. I must have been smiling widely myself. One of the Japanese girls talked to me about how happy Nori looks and how amazing that is. When he looked over I couldn’t help but directly tell him how happy he looks and how different it is. I said: “You had such a cool expression in Tokyo” and he passionately replied “No I didn’t!” “Yes you did, like a kami-sama (=god)” “No I didn’t!” “Seriously you are smiling so much today but usually you really have this cool expression *lol*” …. He was thinking for a bit and then guessed that maybe it was because we had been caught up in a really narrow space between the table and the wall. That was true though. He must have felt very uncomfortable there.
Nori caught the attention of the staff member for me. He explained everything in Japanese to speed things up and the staff was quite shocked that everything had been going wrong *lol* So we were kneeling over a chair and a sheet of paper right behind Nori. Before he could go on I felt like patting his ego a bit and said in Japanesse: “Psssst! It’s a secret” he bend down further “we fans really like you, ne! So give your best ;>”. He smiled and answered “Oh thank you I will!”. We had indeed been talking about him when he had come on stage with the others to set up the instruments. He asked me to write down my address and name and I added my ID. I did get my Japanese registration card though and let him write down the address in Kanji since I thought that might be easier. He ended up bowing with words of excuse for all the trouble and the promise to take care of it as soon as possible while I was excusing myself for troubling him. *lol* Very Japanese situation.
Before letting him return to do his job I asked him to be save if I really can’t get a picture with the guys. He said that he’s very sorry but that he fears it’s not possible. I could just smile at him and tell him that I understand. It must be hard, this kind of job. You always have to scold the band, tell off fans and separate both when AGAIN they got stuck in endless conversations and are troubling the staff of the venue which can’t go home. ^.^’’
I made my decision and turned around to Nori asking him bluntly: “I can’t have a picture with you but can I have a hug? XD” His answer was simple. “Sure!” So he came closer and hugged me. And I hugged back while we were thanking eachother for being there. Nori’s hug was careful but full of warmth. ^__^ I really like him. And there is still much he makes me wonder about. Maybe little by little I can get to know more.
There was a short weird moment after we separated *lol* But then he asked if he’s going to see me at the FC even then. I confirmed though the issue was still unclear. I said that I was looking for it though I’d most likely be a bit tired again. I told him about how I had hoped to be in best shape for them today but ended up exhausted because of the deer. His reaction to the story was “Wow…be careful, ne!”. I told him that it can’t be helped. I told him how the earth sometimes stinks when we dig it up because of the chemicals still being in there and that I can’t afford to worry much. I ended up telling him that I love my job. I’m not 100% sure how we got there but I told him that I’ve come to do this job because of how I love Japan. I could barely look at him as I said it. For some reason I’m a bit shy about this point because it feels like I have no right to say that Japan is in my heart like a homeland since it’s not long that I’m here.
We were saved out of the somehow finished conversation by Jon ending his conversation. *lol* He turned around and I asked him about the hug. *lol* he’s such a sunshine: “Ofcourse you can!” Stretching out his arms he welcomed me. He is so tall and his arms are so long. He wrapped them around my body and a little shock went down my spine when he placed his hand on the back of my head. No, after the live his body rally isn’t burning. He is warm and he smells good. Funnily just as I had guessed his smell is manly but has a sweet scent to it. And I was surprised by how he simply kept hugging me for a bit while quietly speaking words of gratitude.
If Jon has a girlfriend she must feel very save in his arms. And if he doesn’t have a girlfriend yet, then she sure will feel very comfortable and save in his arms. I hope he has or finds a wonderful warm-hearted woman who will support him on his way.
After he slowly let go off me he kept thanking for all the work. He told me how grateful they are for the document I handed in from the German ST because they really appreciate to hear from fans directly what is wanted and needed. He said that we made some very good points and that they were currently working on using parts of it accessible for the staff because it’s all English and most of the staff members actually don’t speak English (This makes me think about the future btw. and future ST projects). I told him about how grateful I am to hear that our efforts are of use. I told him that I was happy that it’s OK to share our ideas because I had been worried about causing more work. He said again that there were really good points like the communication matter. We talked about how people are spread all over the platforms and about the new document I had handed over from some ST mods which was expressing our wish to work with the official forum and get united at one place. Jon said that they are currently checking budget and that they are considering that they might have to change platform!
I couldn’t hold back! I seriously couldn’t. I asked him if he knows LiveJournal. He didn’t. I gave him a short input about all features, about the costs and possibilities! He went all “SERIOUSLY????” and “Is that mentioned in this document, too?” It indeed was mentioned at one point so I showed him and had him mark it so that he could find it easier. He then asked if that’s the platform where fadefamily have their account. I said “EXACTLY!!” And he told me that they had actually been checking the site because it was so well made! XD Congratulation, ladies!!!!
A quiet bit sharp “Jon!” dragged us out of conversation. Staff-san (I’ll ask him for his name on Friday!) made Jon go into a hurry to say by to everyone while he hadn’t even turned around and was packing the goods. XD He is amazingly strict with the guys. *lol* We made sure to head out fast while saying bye. One of the girls told me how amazed she was because Jon and me were in such a deep conversation in English. I laughed and said: “Sure, it was about ST work X’D!” . .
. . .I had mentioned it as I had been talking to Nori that night: that I had lost my map and might have difficulties to get back immediately. I got lost. I had kind people help me a bit. I had taken one turn too early. I didn’t mind the walk. Back in the hostel I would fall asleep quickly and then wake up and be awake for hours at night. I was listening to fade music and totally fine with it.
My heart is filled with thanks for these amazing people. I hope they’ll be fine no matter how the situation changes for them.
(I was asked to finally quickly post so I’ll not check for mistakes yet! >.<) . . .
