Very nice. Makes perfect sense that Echo would fear Caroline now that she's become self - aware. Lovely ending with all of them including Caroline melded into Echo.

I think this is brilliant - it delves into areas that canon might have done better, and it brings out these lovely descriptions of all these conflicts and contradictions. I like the idea of Caroline as boogeyman, as the enemy that is built up and then is not at all what they thought - it has so many resonances. And the idea that Caroline doesn't have any fight in her once she realizes her fighting was manipulated - she can't stand that she was a doll all along, so to speak - that was really interesting. Thanks for this!
