Oh my gosh, this is so sweet! Cordelia's secret date surprise with the messages and the maps is delightful. I love the little details--the French singer, Cordelia smiling at the waitress--and I found myself particularly caught by the descriptions of the girls' outfits and what they meant. I loved that Nina borrowed one of Cordelia's dresses for their tryst, and the vision of her twirling the skirt is caught in my head; the way you described it makes me see it with perfect clarity.
