hi everyone. i know i never write in this thing anymore, but i have news. yesterday my mom had a pulmonary embolism and she's in the ICU. they're all the way in arizona, and i'm here, so there's not much i can do. it's also hard to get an idea of how serious this is, because i haven't yet been able to get ahold of my dad and my sister who lives

We're ok. weirded out still, but ok. My parents don't want us to go to Arizona...my dad feels like the added stress isn't necessary. So we're just working through things as usual...

I'm very sorry to hear this. I think it's worse when people are far away AND you have conflicted feelings. Just remember to take good care of yourself.
