[ So a certain someone is hanging out in the first floors of the Tower, lurking in the metal beams and rafters near the glass ceiling. He's sitting above the food court area, dividing his attention between the sky and the people milling below

[Euphie is sampling some ice cream down there, and happens to glance up to see--wings? She does a double-take and then smiles and waves, recognizing him.]

Hello again!

Well, I hope you don't mind a little company today! [She smiles, looking up at the ceiling again and then letting out a soft laugh.]

I wonder what my family would say if they knew I was up here. They'd probably confine me to my room for a month.

[prince_of_skies]

[ He scowls. ] Why would they do that? It isn't as if you've left the Tower.

[fleurgentille]

Oh, they would probably say it was dangerous. Or inappropriate behavior for a lady of the Ornatia.

[She sighs] They just like to keep a close eye on me. I suppose it's for my own good.

[prince_of_skies]

[ Reyson's expression tightens; he can't say that he's entirely unfamiliar with her situation. ]

I see. Well I think it is entirely appropriate, and I think you should forget about what they might think for now, and simply enjoy the view.

[fleurgentille]

[Euphie smiles slightly at that, nodding.] I'll do just that.

[She glances at him again, tilting her head.] It must be lovely to fly outside of the Tower, too.

[prince_of_skies]

[ Well, she's pegged him down already, hasn't she? ] I'm sure it is, though I would not know.

[fleurgentille]

[She looks surprised by that] Why not?

[prince_of_skies]

I am not permitted to leave the Tower.

[fleurgentille]

[Confusion and concern flicker across her features.] Not at all?

[prince_of_skies]

Not at all. There have been very few exceptions, but I have not gone far. [ Pause. ] But please, pay it no mind.

[fleurgentille]

[She reaches out to lightly touch his arm.] I'm so sorry, Reyson. I can't imagine... [Pauses] My family doesn't permit me to leave on my own, but it doesn't seem fair to keep you here.

[prince_of_skies]

[ He looks a bit uneasy, and turns his eyes to the sky. ] Please, forget I said anything. It should be of no concern to you. I am fine here, and well cared for. Besides, you are hardly better off than I.

But there's no reason for you to be kept here. It's just...not right.

[fleurgentille]

[She pauses, looking thoughtful.] I may not hold much sway in such matters, but... [Lowers her voice, even though there's no one who could hear them, anyway.] I do know of ways to get out of the Tower without being noticed. Just for a short while.

[prince_of_skies]

[ He knows that she means well, just as all the rest do, but this is exactly why he dislikes discussing this. He doesn't like being fussed over; it somehow only makes him feel more helpless. ] Unfortunately it isn't that simple. They are very thorough about how they keep me restricted. Please, don't worry yourself with it.
