Big Bake 2010 Addendum: Stöllen

one final note on baking activities for the 2010 holiday season. as noted somewhere else, we never got the Chrisses their cookies, for a variety of reasons, and I didn't feel as though giving 2-week-old cookies as a gift was the right thing to do. instead, we sorted out of the bag originally intended for the Chrisses all the cookies that we wanted

I did not do stollen this year (because, as I was informed, I'm the only one that likes it, and my recipe makes WAY too much for me to eat by myself). In fact, I did very little baking myself this year (although I did put cookies into the oven, and take them out and put more in - sous chef stuff), but I did EAT a lot of cookies. And fruit cake. (How people can like fruit cake but not stollen, I don't know.)

oh, that's too bad! I agree on the fruitcake/stollen thing, though I'm not particularly fond of fruitcake. actually, I can't understand how anyone could not like stollen, just in general. :)

though your comment did lead me to start looking through your entries from last year to find your stollen recipe. I haven't found it yet, but I did find your lamb stew recipe, and was reminded that I had planned to make that sometime. yummy!
