i wonder if it's got things to do with artificial hormones induced into cattle reared to farm. i mean, women who ate lots of red meat back in older times didn't have these problems right?

gosh.

oh well.

MORE MEAT FOR ME!!!

like, every day they come up with new Cancer Causing and Anti Cancer foods. its so damn annoying! same for the butter margarine debate. at this rate we should all be anorexic!

on the bright side, at least they haven't found anything carcinogenic about dairy products (read: ice cream, cakes, cheese, chocolate!) heh.

i don't know that much about cancer in red meat, but i think it has to do with the way it's cooked or processed. red meat overcooked at high temperatures is especially carcinogenic cos it activates nitrosamines which can mutate your DNA. deli meat (sausages, ham) are also bad!

wrt to hormones, i only know that estrogen and similar hormones can predispose you to a number of things like breast cancer and stroke. estrogen on the whole induces cell proliferation, which is bad news if your cell happens to have lousy DNA, because then you're more likely to get cancer.

also, breast cancer can happen to men, but 99% of the time it happens to women. except that when it does, it usually spreads quickly to nearby bones or the heart or lungs, so it's actually more serious when detected.

if in doubt, eat organic grass! it's the safest :D
