Title: Perfection
rating: PG
word count: ~1,700
summary:  There have been 34 perfect games thrown in Cape Cod Baseball League history.  Kurt Hummel tries to make it 35.
author's note: Takes place in my Wait For Spring 'verse.  Doesn't have to be read in order to get this, but this piece is very heavy on the baseball, so basic knowledge would be good.   ( Read more... )

Yay! One of my all time favourite series, another FLAWLESS chapter. Totally mesmerising. I just adore your writing style.

Amazing, as usual.

Thank you so much! I know it's kind of heavy on the baseball with not a lot of Klaine, but I just wanted to get into Kurt's head while this was going on, ya know?

But so glad you enjoyed it! <3

Yay! I just love this 'verse and this instalment is wonderful.

But why would they stay away from him in the dugout? They don't want to jinx him? They want to help him stay in his zone?

I should have explained that better, huh? Yes, it's customary to not go near the pitcher while he's throwing a no-hitter or perfect game. I'm not sure of the reason exactly, probably has something to do with jinxing. Most baseball players are ridiculously supersticious.

Thank you for reading! <3

This was kinda perfect. I liked seeing the Klaine baseball interactions (if that makes any sense). It kinda makes me wonder what it would be like for them to face each other in the major leagues (They both started their careers in the NL West right?). That could be fabulous.

Thank you! And yes, there will definitely be fic of them facing each other in the majors. It's the next thing I plan on writing, but the idea of Kurt throwing a perfect game kind of smacked me upside the head.

What an amazing verse! It's funny that I checked back just two days ago to see if you had added any (that I missed) to this verse. It made it all the more worthwhile that they were sharing that moment.

I'm always happy to see a continuation of this story. I love the idea of Kurt's perfect game being with Blaine as the catcher. It was cute that Kurt didn't realize his teammates were trying to not jinx him in the dugout. I hope you plan to continue this verse. If you do will you be planning to write about them facing each other?

I'm for sure going to write about them facing each other when they make it to the MLB, but the idea of Kurt throwing a perfect game latched on and wouldn't let go.
