Man, I want to blog more but it's hard to get everything done with this repetitive stress thing. I am getting better, just slowly, probably not helped by the fact that I spend too much time frittering around (translation: googling myself). I think there is something about my chair configuration that is still aggravating the problem, but I can't ( Read more... )

repetitive stress, magic under glass, yay!

Is it your back that's bothering you? I've actually found a plain kitchen chair to be more comfortable for long stretches of writing than a fancy office chair.

Cute picture! But I can guarantee you no one looked that good in the 80's. You need some kind of hideous sweater dress with huge shoulder pads and some Sperry top-siders or something. Trust me, I was there! Though, I was one of those proto-goth kids who dressed like Robert Smith.

I have your book on my list! I can't wait to read it! :)

It actually started with a compressed nerve in my elbow. My hands bother me the most, and I have trouble with my neck and shoulders, although that seems to be getting better. My elbow itself used to hurt, but that seems completely gone. And I've tried four different chairs! I'm not sure what the problem is.

And, you're right, that outfit is not as 80s as it could be. I don't really own ugly 80s clothes. I did go to a thrift store and look for some, I really tried, but no luck!

Oh, ow! Poor thing, that doesn't sound like fun at all! I have trigger finger in two of my fingers on my right hand, which is annoying, but doesn't sound as bad as a compressed nerve!

Ha ha, it's because all the hipsters have cleaned out the thrift stores of ugly 80's clothes! Bless their hearts.

I did find this great dress -- denim with shoulder pads and asymmetrical snaps. It would have been so tacky and great. But it didn't fit. alas!

You look great!

I'm glad your publisher was considerate enough to release your book before Christmas. It's on my to-give list, as I know some people who would really, really like it.

I'm glad it will make some nice Christmas presents! It's kind of an inconvenient release time in most other respects...

Where's the blue eyeshadow and equally over-the-top makeup? And the pouffy moussed big hair? I love shoulder pads; they were the only good thing to come out of 80s fashion.

Not much longer until you'll see your book in bookstores!!!

I am wearing purple eyeshadow and pink sparkly blush, but you can't really see it. And I don't own any "product", so a headband is the best I could do! (Actually the makeup wasn't mine either...)
