Random Memories

I grew up on a five acre property. Half of it was swamp, and we couldn't go back there, unless Dad cleared it in a canoe and took us out in it. I can only remember that he did this once, and it was very beautiful back there. Lots of lilypads. But we still had a lot of room to play. The terrain was flat, mostly, with palmetto bushes that were very ( Read more... )

Dewey is past his prime. I think everyone should adopt the Bianca Dolamore Library System.

And hello and nice to meet you by the way.

Alas, the Bianca Dolamore Library System lacked very good categorization of non-fiction!

Nice to meet you, too! I added you as a friend and forgot to introduce myself, but you seemed interesting!

ah, memories. was this in florida?

i was the same way about books as a kid, too. well, i still am that way, and i guess i am far from being a kid. i just get around cool books and usually end up leaving with a big-ass stack of them, so big that it's almost uncomfortable getting them to the car. i mean, they're FREE! :) and so fun to look at. i love getting books about crafty stuff, sewing, fashion, etc. some of my favorite books ever were one's i have found at the library. we're so lucky to even have libraries, i think.

Yeah, this was right here in central FL. And, yeah, libraries are the greatest. Sometimes I just stop to be thankful that we have them. I still get big piles of books but I am not as good at actually READING them as I used to be. I might get through half the stack...

And of course, our continuous plague of overdue fees... ;-) I need to make a post about childhood memories now. The Big Sexy Ultra saga alone is a mini-series. ;-)

Surely not! Your LJ seems interesting, too, so I will reciprocate. (Well, I usually do anyway, but I will enjoy reading yours.)
