Adora had barely gotten over the fact that she had a twin brother and real parents who loved her before she was kidnapped from the castle on Eternia by Hordak and his wicked friend, Skeletor. Luckily for Adora, she had retained the Sword of Protection and rescued herself from Snake Mountain by transforming into She-Ra and fighting off the monstrous villains, much to the surprise and pleasure of He-Man and Man-At-Arms.
It was only a few weeks later that Adora found herself agreeing with her parents that some time away from Etheria to learn leadership from people who weren't Hordak might be a positive thing. Especially since Queen Angella had returned to the Whispering Woods and the Great Rebellion had someone else to lead them for the time being. Adora getting an education would be better for Etheria in the long run, even if Adora worried that her people would need She-Ra while she was gone. It was Adam who made the difference, promising to check in on the Rebels with the help of Castaspella and the Sorceress. He really was the greatest brother a girl could ask for.
Adam and Cringer walked her to the portal late in the evening, stopping at the entrance to say a last goodbye. "Farewell Adora."
"Is that any way to say goodbye to your twin sister?" Adora asked, leaning in to give Adam a fierce hug.
He laughed, hugging her tightly. "How about saying good luck and not goodbye?"
"I like that even better," she promised with a final squeeze. "Take care of things for me, brother, and if you need She-Ra-"
"I know just who to call," Adam grinned, releasing her and stepping back to stand with Cringer, who appeared rather horrified as usual.
Adora nodded and turned to Spirit, giving his forehead a quick rub of reassurance before they both disappeared through the portal to their next big adventure.
