When I was about 4 or 5 years old I went to the doctor for skin problems, which turned out to be eczema.  My doctor went over a couple of things I should do to help ease the itching.  I don't remember exactly everything he said, but at the end of it all, the one thing that stuck out was don't eat any chocolate.  For the next several years of my ( Read more... )

Haha ohhh I'm sure I shrieked a little bit that he was able to keep this to himself all these years! I bet it would have been harder to deal with if I had already developed a love of chocolate and then was told I couldn't have it anymore. That would suck so hard...

The salted caramels are from Jo's candies and can be purchased at Cost Plus World Market or from their website, if you're interested. They were really good.

The thin mints recipe is super easy to make! You should try it out if you have the chance. Almost just as good as the GS ones, but so much cheaper and you can have them year-round! :)

Those homemade thin mints look amazing!

(Do you like white chocolate & did you eat it often before your Dad fessed up?)

Try the recipe! It's super easy to make and you'll have a whole bunch to keep you in the freezer for whenever you get a craving and the Girl Scouts aren't around. :)

I do like white chocolate! I think maybe the first few years after the doctor visit I used to eat it fairly frequently, but since then I haven't had it very much. That probably has more to do with my not buying candy very often, though. Every now and then my dad likes to bring home a white chocolate bar for me, to keep up the joke. :)

Oh I'm sure the doc was pretty surprised at the request! Hmm... if I were a doc, I think I might do it. Especially if there's a rival dentist working in the building lol. No business for him!
