Meat sensitivity

I don't eat meat and haven't since I was sick in April of 2010 (link to my LJ on it). A few days ago I read an article on an allergy spread by ticks in South America and that the Lone Star tick, whose habitat just happens to include the District has been spreading it, too. Can you still eat chicken, fish, that sort of thing?

(I at first started this comment with several variations on "Oh, dear" or "How unfortunate," but erased them all bc lots of people, including me, would probably not find it that much of a problem.)

Fish occasionally. Eggs occasionally. The last couple of times I've tried turkey, it's been a no go, but that may have more to do with not having eaten it for so long. I'm vegetarian, not vegan.
