Christmas Music

Nov 29, 2013 12:11

Don't get me wrong, I like many, many different types of Christmas music, and listen to it frequently in the week or two before Christmas.

My office-mate has on a radio tuned to Christmas music.  It's not even December yet! (Though, happily, it is after Thanksgiving.)  I may gouge my eyes out by Christmas Eve.

There's a lot of really good Christmas music, both secular and religious.

There is about 50 times that much dreck, and that's mostly what you hear during the holidays if you are not in charge of the playlist :)

Courage, my love.

I've already heard "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree" five times, and I was in another office for four hours today.

I'm in the process of debating if I want to start putting up my tree and such already or just wait this year.

Granted, there are some carols I listen to year round...

I have a few I listen to a lot as well, but twelve different singers performing "Do You Hear What I Hear?" in basically the same arrangement are not sufficient variance...

You can borrow my CD box set of goth/darkwave bands doing Christmas music if you need an antidote to the mawkishness of many carols, if you'd like.
