I make Rosaries.
In addition to making the gemstone kind, which i sell,  i make knotted twine rosaries to give away.  give. free. no charge.

The military needs them to be made in appropriate colors (lots of call for desert tan and ( Read more... )

they are good folks.
i learned to make my knotted rosaries from them, and have made many for the local hospitals and cancer wards, after i made a few from my friend lj user: ladyrowansplace, to take through her MRI and stuff, and people kept asking where she got them.

i rarely ask people to give to any religious charities, because frankly most of them are pretty annoying... but these guys are doing amazing work, and are generally non aggravating even if you are not part of their religion.

(and their podcasts and shows are amazingly well done, especially for a low budget operation)

these guys are great. For about a year I was listening to their podcast until they went to more than 1x/week and I couldn't keep up.

Folks, it is a good cause, and they are not Catholic Nazis. They are good people who have a unique mission.

yup, you go and ASK them for a rosary, and you get one...
no pressure, no hassles, no lectures... just "please pray for others too"

and did you know that their other podcast: "That Catholic Show" is now on sale on DVD? through their webpage of course....

nate, if you can. please spread the word and see if we can drum (and pipe) up some support for them.i cant afford to give them any more than i already have, but i can let other people know about them!

Done, although I took the liberty of copying your post--you did a good job of explaining what they do.

wow. this sounds like something i might want to do! i wouldn't mind keeping my nimble hands busy making rosaries and i *know* it would make my mom smile. it might even be something my niece can do! the knots would be smaller, but i'm srue that's ok. i'm going to talk to my sister when she comes home from LA about it. thanks for posting!

its very easy. and if you pre cut the lengths and put them in a bag, it is something that can be safely done in a car or plane ride.... the twine is nylon and the ends need to be heat sealed when you cut them, so you cant do that ON a plane... its extremely portable, and to do most of the work you just need twine and fingers ( ... )

Thanks for posting this. RA doesn't get nearly enough attention and I think it's because we don't advertise what we do, we just do it. Very little things in this world can bring peace by making it, by sharing it, and by using it.
