yes, i know i was going to post something else before this... but life happened.

i will be putting most of this behind a cut for length, but the summary?
i  am slowly pulling out of a depression "relapse", and today was my violin lesson.. and it really, really, did not go well.... such that i may end up in a fight with the school to get a partial ( Read more... )

Sounds like a lack of communication on their end... Between the admin and the teacher - that is such a common and idiotic problem!

Anyway, if he is still getting paid, what is the problem??? I could understand if he was angry as he waited and didn't get paid, but if someone chooses to pay and not turn up, he should count himself lucky (maybe that is just my attitude coming through, as I tend to have admin work I can do if people don't show up for their appointments)..

don't give up on the violin (I wish you could find someone like my old teacher, she was understanding, and thought that adults only really needed lessons fortnightly, once you had the basics, and as adults, were old enough to practice on your own)... Also she was quite flexible with times and organised lessons for when you could actually get there...

Glad you are back online and everything is slowly improving...

oh, i am not giving up on violin... i am way too stubborn for that.
but i sure as heck am not oing back to that school unless they grovel. a lot. and give me most of my money back.

as an aside? i have trouble scheduling things, and do well with more regular structure. so probably weekly lessons is good for me, but lets face facts guys. i am an adult. i work. i am also responsible for a lot more than the typical 12year old, ya know?
if the cat needs to go to the vet, thats my job.. if the roofers need to be dealt with, thats my job. if the husband needs to go to a doctor that is REALLY my job, because he's a husband and they are bad at that.

i didnt take thursday classes because i knew i would be out of town way too many thursdays to be worthwhile. so any time he called and moved classes to thursday thats ME doing HIM a favor. and he still gets paid.....

I just do not get what this guy's problem is. Allowing for the school's cut, he's making something like $15 per half hour, or $30 an hour, to teach music, whether the student shows up or not! $30 an hour = $60,000 a year, which ain't chump change. And he "doesn't have time" to deal with it? Asshole!

Whereas I appear to be on my way into one...hence a whole lot of nothing in my journal recently. I hope you find something worth reading, at least. *wry smile*

Much sympathy on the financial front, as well.
