I know it must be frustrating to loose the time, but like you said its not all bad news (what a good attitude!) - I am glad the school had that policy. What a relief.
i tried to use the policy previously, but because it wasnt as simple a case.. (i was trying to drop a course, yes, over medical, yes, but it was a kind of isolated incident... ) they told ne they couldnt do it.
generally the "re take one quarter free" medical policy is an all or nothing case. i was HOPING that since the two i needed to re do were ACTIVE (standing required, sewing required, workshop classes) and the one i wanted to keep was a CLASSROOM and computer class, that they would be able to do it.
i was prepared for NO, but indeed they think they can get the exemption based on something like "you can still type in the hospital..." kind of stuff. and it looks good.
honestly i would rather not throw the fabric after the tuition money either....
If you are forced to drop all classes, I wonder I'd you can work something out with the A+ course professor to roll your current grade forward while you retake the others.
