I'm so sorry! :(bittercatFebruary 21 2012, 17:46:24 UTC
I don't get on LJ as often as I'd like. I did not know you were having these issues! I'm so sorry about the doctor-revolving-door you're having to experience. I hope they find an answer for you soon, and I hope it is not MS! :(
I have a similar challenge. I have seen two rheumatologists, and the 2nd one said that my symptoms act like fibro, but my bloodwork is good, and I don't have the pressure points. Meanwhile, when I have to cancel things, I have to say stupid stuff like, "I am too tired to come to your party" or "I feel like my blood is on fire, but I don't know why. Sorry-can't leave the house today!" :( In fairness, a lot of my friends understand, because many of them have similar issues.

blood work will not detect fibro.... it is used for Rheumatoid Arthritis... but admittedly there are some things that are common "also rans" with certain ailments. the pressure points is considered definative, but may not be "active" when you have a doctors appt. i got "lucky" in that when i went to my rheumatologist i had a major pain flare and every single pressure point was "DONT TOUCH THAT" but if i had been having a good day? not so much
i assume they have tsted for Lyme? its very common to have those symptoms with lyme... and Rheumatoid Arthritis can mimic them, as can MS and also Lupus...
good luck to both of us. hugs
in the meantime? vitamin B in higher than average doses, plus flax seed oil and god fats helps almost anything.. plus vit D

Look up info on adrenal fatigue. It is a lot like fibro but with more of the extreme tiredness and not so much the pain. It isn't recognized by a lot of docs as a "real" condition but speaking as someone who has it, it is.
Hope you feel better soon. The warmer weather seems to help me.
i was diagnosed with ms without a positive mri because of my symptoms, then bam, a lesion the size of montana this past month. no denying it now. it is no longer a questioned dx, it is there. sometimes it takes a long time to show up and not everyone has the same way of presenting from what i understand. yes, the degeneration is there, but not all sheaths scar, or at least that is what the new neuro told me in a phone consult.
