That's terrible; I'm so sorry. I had whooping cough in high school, and it lasted for months. I was miserable. The doctor wouldn't even diagnose me, and the crap he gave never worked, so don't get your hopes up over those assholes. v______v
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this. ((hugs)) I had viral whooping cough as a child and only have hazy memories of it, but what I remember was awful: I lost a tremendous amount of weight because I kept throwing up every time I coughed (I remember I could count my ribs) and my Mom informed me later I was almost hospitalized. Don't hesitate..go to ER if you get worse! My prayers are with you.
Weird. I'd ask about it. A friend of mine, who is a teacher, got whooping cough last year, and got a booster vaccine after she was over it. Apparently the ones we got as a kid have pretty much worn off but it usually isn't a big deal for adults since whooping cough mainly hit kids. Since you've gotten it again and probably have it now, it might be worth asking about getting a booster vaccine. Some info on it: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/pertussis/
