Didn't you say you had neighbors whose houses caught on fire before? Or someone's neighbors had house problems? I distinctly remember something along these lines. Then again it's 3:20am.

Be careful! :O

same neighbors had the SWAT team on the roof arresting someone.
trying to stay safe, thanks!
thats why i am staying up, not that i want to....

we currently have several missing houses on the block, some due to fire, some due to other issues

i dont know, really... i am trying to refrain from speculating on an open post....
all i know is that it was a ceiling fire, they had to use axes to get acess to put it out, and there is a lot of soggy brnt stuff in the yard now.

(probably electrical, now that i think about it)

AFAIK, your nose is more sensitive than most smoke detectors. Definitely test the detector, but if you didn't _see_ smoke, it probably wasn't enough.

Usually smoke needs to be visible before the particle saturation is enough to set off smoke alarms. Still, how can someone sleep through that going on next door? I'm more shocked at Wayne remaining asleep.

Stay safe, check the smoke detectors anyway, and good luck!

i had to shake wayne awake, of course.
sleep apnea, and "well treated" my aunt fanny.

anyway, he went back to sleep immediately so i doubt he really woke up at al,
and then after his alarm went off he went back to slep without his mask on. sigh

That's actively unsafe. Wayne, I mean ... all of this.
Glad the fire didn't get your house! Glad you're alright.

yup. of course wayne never woke up easily, but lately its been worse...

plus of course *I* have a lifetime long habit of "once you get me UP i am UP.. i dont fall back asleep well, which is why i tell roomsharing people at conventions.. "come in to the hotel room, but do not talk to me, because i WILL wake up....and not go back to sleep"

so been up since 4
sigh

at least when i finally DID get wayne up, he remembered me getting him out of bed and "something about a fire"
