I am incandescent with white-hot rage at what they did to you. That is just such utter bullshit.

Why, oh why, do they bother having disabilities co-ordinators at all, if their job is such a useless (to the students'), cover-your-arse type of gig?

I apologise for my language. I'll stop now, lest I rant and swear more.

I know the world works this way, but I can't change anything except to put plenty of chairs for people to use in my front office. that way people have places to sit and put canes ect.

And they say I am sociopathic and detached......hmmmmm.....considering the source now

Wow. That's sort of like finding your limits the hard way. BTDT, ended up on a cane more than twice. Glad you had parents willing and able to a) run and b) loan you a walker!

Gah. Totally being blindsided by a walk is BS. It's the assumption that everybody can do it that pisses me off. Definitely need to let the teacher know that any future excursions have to have an alternate method of getting around. Grrrrr

I could see making the mistake if the teacher was like 20, I know I did that once or twice when I was that age (not understanding the physical limits others have). But once you have some experience under your belt, that sort of nonchalance in a teacher is not acceptable.

oh my...how horrible. The students and teacher being that uncaring--the more I'm hearing about this school, the less I'm liking about it. It seems like somebody's got to give them a lesson in dealing with real human being who are over the age of 18. To spring a field trip on you was wrong. Because if you knew you probably would have brought money for a cab and none of this would have happened. Grr.... i have no other words.
