Sounds like a very good haul on a summer wardrobe. Kudos! ^_^ Though I find I must comment... if your bra normally digs into the shoulder area, it's the wrong size. The band should be holding all the weight, not the straps.
my usual bra? th eband is quite capable of holding all the weight, i can take the straps off and stay mostly put..... BUT the straps are not long enough, even at maximum, and they DIG into my shoulders.
incidentally, i have the same issue with the strappy chemise tops. the straps dig in, even when worn over a bra....
the straps on the spanx bra TRY to dig in, but they are softer and wider and cant do it as much.
probably... i had people tell me as a kid "oh you need a smaller bra band" so i got a smaller bra band... even when the bra band leaves imprints you could take a mold from... from cutting off the circulation, my shoulder straps dig in.. and they keep doing that until they get SO loose they fall off. so i assume i have a lower bust, or a taller "bust to shoulder" than they expect.
i dont use the strappy chemise things to hide straps, i use them to tuck into my pants/skirt so that if my shirt rides up i dont flash skin.... and also to fill in a low neckline.
only in the hottest weather do i wear them "as a shirt" and then i usually have a gauzy jacket over them anyway....
