Oh my ghod! I totally misread that and thought you said she'd passed on. Don't give me a heart attack like that.

I checked out the rules and it says "Deadline for entries is Midnight, October 15, 2009. A ten dollar ($10.00) entry fee is required." It goes on to say the anthology is published as an e-book and I couldn't find mention of a prize, other than inclusion in the e-book... Unless I am missing something, this sounds like less of a contest and more of a self-publishing project. Does the author retain the rights to their work? Do they get a percentage of every ebook sold or a flat wage?

is it a "big book thing" no, probably not..... but its not junk either, and not everyone wins inclusion...

I wasn't trying to imply that self-publishing was junk, just that it is different than a contest. I think people ought to know what they are getting into. I have no intention of paying to enter a contest, personally, however I would love to connect with Danielle, I was looking wistfully at her Bad-ass fairies anthology and I DO always love to meet other local writers :)

i am *responsible* for the bad ass faeries collection.
she was doing a book reading and signing in my old store... and we were talking..
by the time she left we were all going "yea! "bad ass faeries" and she said she would look into doing something with it....
