Fountain Pens

Jun 16, 2009 16:31

Kirsten wishes to remind everyone that she is a fountain pen addict.  there is no cure, and fancy ballpoints are only Methadone to the fountain pen habit.
in related news Levenger is having their summer sale.. and has some fountain pens for under 40 dollars. (one under 20).

levenger, sale, fountain pens, wish list

Question: what is the difference between a pen for $150 and one for $40?? Although not a fountain pen geek, the ivory one is gorgeous.

Answer: i can possibly afford the $40 one....

oh, do you mean why might they cost that much? well they are made in limited numbers, people dont buy fountain pens the way they do ballpoints, by high end companies, using precision engineering....
add in the "designer name" factor
add in the "exclusive high end shop" factor

it all adds up.

...never could use ballpoints...have to press too hard.

It's Waterman and Pelikan only for me...(and my beloved three 1950's Esterbrooks..)

I clicked on that link and didn't even get to the fountain pen, there was so many other things to lust after!

The tips on creating a home office were awesome, too. :)

i can tell you from personal experience that their descriptions are excruciatingly accurate, when they say high quality paper.... wow.

I love fountain pens but alas I can't write with them being left handed. :(

..yes you can.

Friend of mine, very talented man, Lefty...has two.

For lefties.

Really.

(so does Husband, but he also has righty pens...he's ambidextrous...after a rather nasty stint in a Catholic School as a boy in the Bronx)

also a lefty who has a fountain pen addiction. you just have to change your writing angle ever so slightly and all is well.
