Hair Stylists, and hair cuts

as someone who is NOT in the majority on hair..... (i have long hair, i want it long, i want it to grow longer....and yes i have a serious investment in beautiful hair sticks, clips, pins, etc)
i can share some things about hair styling and stylists and hair cuts from the various "long hair communities" i am on.  this should be useful no matter

I LOVE my stylist. She is patient, and careful with my hair. I have SUPER thick hair. I love it, but it's a pain in the butt to take care of. I'll bring in a photo of something I like, and she'll tell me the info about it, and tell me how I can style that at home before she even starts!

It's heaven finding a good stylist.

omg it is! i have never found one that stays around long enough where I am. I guess they move on to better things. I've gotten good and bad cuts (although the bad were mostly from family). I figured some day I will find one! :D
