That's the STATE memorial, which had already been approved.
Sorry to shoot your bubble, but the issue is and has always been the FEDERAL level, especially Veterans Affairs.

So he has his faith-sign on the state memorial. (Good that it's there. Appropriate. Should never have even been an item of discussion.)
It still isn't engraved on his headstone in the federal cemetary.

The battle continues ...

I'm curious if there isn't more to the story...like the family didn't want to fill out paperwork that needed to be filled out in order to get the headstone approved type stuff...

Good guess, and usually true, but not in this case. This has been going on for ~2 years now. All paperwork has been done, all appeals have been pursued, and the widow Stewart and another widow have just filed suit before the US Supreme Court, backed by Americans United and the ACLU, to force equal representation on the headstones. Nope, this time the Paganii did it all correctly *and* by the book, and the FedGov was the dipstick.

Here's CNN's coverage of the lawsuit:

And yes, that *is* Selena looking pretty awful ...

From the CNN article:

"Wiccans worship the Earth and believe they must give to the community."

Ugghh. I don't think I have seen a good description of Wicca in the general media.
