OK I have to do a bit of a core dump here since there are a couple of things that have been simmering for a while that have been just stunningly atrocious.

I am so sick of the primary. It's distracting far too many people from more pressing concerns (myself included!) I'm not even campaigning for Obama so much as campaigning against white supremacy in the political discourse.

Thank you for posting these links. I didn't know about the Dunbar case at all, and both the Iraq war and Katrina had been pushed out of my mind by immigration concerns and the damnable primaries.

We have to remember that the MSM is about bread and circuses. The real assualts on decency get done out of the public eye, but have profound impacts on how ordinary people live their lives.

gorgeousblkwmn has a post on Black women who have been killed on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan that I thought was a very good way to register subtle activism.

And yeah, the Dunbar Village thing is just stunning. Personally I feel like I have to do something or I'll just crack with frustration and horror.
