Several people I respect highly in anthro have just been in the public eye recently:

1) Lee D. Baker and Faye Harrison are among the talking heads in the Independant Lens documentary on Melville Herskovitz that is being broadcast on PBS this month

lol, it is indeed. Lee is a very good guy in addition to being an excellent anthropologist.

Also, another of my heroes: Randy Matory is the new head of Africana Studies at Duke.
