Kirby Puckett died today, and he was one of my childhood heroes. I remember meeting him a lot, this is really sad.

We used to have a plastic souvenir cup with his picture on it and I liked it a lot. I wish he weren't dead.

I think anyone who's currently between the ages of 18 and 25 and grew up in Minnesota has a particular kind of fondness for Kirby Puckett no one else is going to understand. Regardless of what surfaced after he finished playing, it's hard not to love him a little bit.

I have (had?) his autograph. I have a "kind of fondness" for him too, even though I am <18 and non-Minnesotan. Maybe its not your particularly fondness. Regardless, Kirby is a cool name.
