IAVP Day 3

Jan 12, 2006 21:57

I had an unusually good day at work. And yet, I couldn't wait to get home because of my vidding plans for tonight.

Today's vidlet was requested by sisabet.

Download: Love Is Nothing (13.6 MB DivX)
Characters: Fred/Gunn

Lyrics

Love Is Nothing - Liz Phair

You thought I was something from afar
You thought I'd totally excite you
I guess it's just another thing to stand up close and ignite you

Love is nothing, nothing, nothing like they say
You gotta pick up the little pieces everyday

And I thought,
"Who am I?"
"Who's this guy?"
"Would I lie, to make the day blur into the night?"

Love is nothing, nothing, nothing like they say
You gotta get up and work the people everyday

Some behind-the-scenes

sisabet gave me *so* many great choices, I thought I wouldn't be able to decide! But I finally did. And I started prepping - I ripped. I cut the song. And then I changed my mind. Because *this* one broke my heart (more). I just couldn't get it out of my head. I'm so glad I got to explore these two.

The audio cut was simple. I knew I wanted to keep "Who am I? / Who's this guy?", and the rest of the song was cooperative. The Fred/Gunn story was pretty short - especially the happy parts, so capturing the source didn't take very long. The vidding itself was also pretty smooth, but it did take longer than I had hoped. I think it's partly because I had these clear visuals, and somehow in my head these clips took up more of the timeline than in reality. Hee.

Nothing special, effects-wise. Unlike with my other vids, this time I really wanted the AtS source to look lighter. So I just used Levels. I used Horizontal Flip on one clip, and freeze frames in a few others.

This one took less than a day to make. I just checked, and like yesterday's vidlet, the beginning of the file stutters in VLC. I suspect this has to do with the slight fade from black I start the clip with. Please use WMP instead?

As usual, any feedback is much appreciated.
