E. Jackson: Week Five

Elijah was disappointed in himself. A bad decision while on mission in low space orbit led to the loss of the Llamsat-1 navigation satellite: hundreds of millions wasted and a "re-assignment," technically not a demotion or loss of rank, but still, it felt like it to him. In command of the air wing on lead carrier group Alpha in an undisclosed location off the coast of Twikkii Island, he wasn't enamored of the combat tour after having been in space, but he had no-one to blame but himself.

Meanwhile, McKayla had her own career-related drama. She had been long settled as Executive Chef at one of the top restaurants in SimCity's "Little Bujumbura" and her Central African fusion dishes were well-regarded, but her boss had expressed a desire to perhaps move in a different direction. McKayla was well-aware that her advancing age and status had led to some grumbling that her food was dated, but at this point in her life, she really didn't want to go out on her own. Perhaps it was time for retirement.

As their parents adjusted to work demands, the children all became teenagers and were quite different in personality. Stanhope, the oldest, was a ne'er-do-well, who thought constantly about girls and partying. Despite this, he was naturally intelligent and easily maintained excellent grades despite never studying or taking anything seriously. He looked forward to heading off to college for the social life it promised.

Eliphalet wanted to continue the family's tradition of service and thought only of joining the SimNation forces, like his father and grandfather before him. A mediocre student, he spent almost all his waking hours training and working-out to meet the physical requirements of the SimNation Marine Corps. For him, college was simply a means to get the officer's commission faster.

His twin sister, Ruhamah, couldn't be more different. A shy and quiet girl, she dreamed of nothing more then becoming a mother and raising children. She longed to find a husband, and began to date as she too prepared for college. Her brothers worried that her trusting nature and naivety might make her easy prey for a cad - and were bound and determined that would not happen on their watch.
