Panther House: Week Five
Marley had been with a few women, but he never stopped loving Ruth, who was truly the woman of his dreams. He proposed to her Junior year and she accepted. His love-life squared away, Marley got back to his other love, academics. He excelled at school and finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA, despite rigorous Physics coursework. He graduated summa cum laude and was the graduation speaker.
Ruth was troubled by her father's descent into dark places, but simply didn't know what to do for him. He didn't want to go into rehab and the few times she dropped by the house, he never stopped drinking. At some point, she almost had to write him off. Like her betrothed, Ruth had gotten around enough to know that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Marley. She was happy to accept his proposal and looked forward to having a family and the role of mother and grandmother. She was a fine student as well, graduating with a 3.9 GPA with a magna cum laude degree in Literature.
Binta spent most of her time studying and with her boyfriend Tomax. They had gone out early in her college years before splitting up, then getting back together; this time for good. He proposed Junior year and she was happy to envision a life with him. Her studying paid off as well, as she finished with a 4.0 GPA and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in History.
George felt as if were drifting. His grades remained fine, although they had slipped a bit in his later years. He had dated a few women, but nothing serious ever developed. As Senior year ended, he was without a girlfriend and generally depressed, since the girl he pined for, Abishag, happened to be the campus slut, and while she would happily give herself physically to him upon request, she seemed to be with a different guy or girl every night and he wanted more than just her body (although it was a fine one). He finished with a 3.8 GPA and a cum laude degree in Economics,
Lastly, the aforementioned Abishag continued her wanton ways. She did follow in her mother and grandmother's footsteps and sleep with Morris before he died; she also had numerous lesbian experiences with her friends, most of whom were drunk at the time: Sophie, Katniss, even Z.J. She slept with Katniss' mom too, and the Llama mascot. Of course, she hit up some of the younger kids and slept with Cornelius and Tina too. As college ended, she was only a few conquests from her goal of 20, but really hadn't thought of what she might do with her life after that. She graduated with a 3.6 GPA and a degree in Drama.
And so ends the updates for the M.U. Graduating Class of Week Five, twenty students in all. Five students graduated with a 4.0 GPA, with Marley Beare selected Valedictorian and Xamot Sanchez, Salutatorian. Considering the many engagements, the new students will form twelve new families, half of these families will be living in existing multi-generational homes back in the Village, while the other half will start new households (in to-be-developed lots along Leiden and William Streets, presumably). Only three of the 20 lack a fiancee, although Aharon will have to wait until his graduates.
