I had good coffee and saw you guys... then really good kid-free sex, then a short nap, then thrifting, then Thai food for lunch, then garden work for 3 hours (retrellised peas, planted moonflowers, planted potatoes, planted bergamot and catnip, weeded, mulched with cocoa in the kitchen herb garden, got those hostas in the ground, let me know if you want to unload any more plants), then a walk, then a shower, and I just ate a salad featuring spinach pulled out of my garden while surfing the web in my backyard, breezy and sunny. And ALONE.
Oh yah...before we even got to gardening, Ed and I had that lovely walk down to Melissa's for coffee while the kids slept late. B called to tell us they were up while we were on the walk back home. Then I sat in front of my computer watching my latest "show" on DVD while I sorted my seeds. I just had some plain serious fun yesterday. And lots of satisfying, good exercise. *happy sigh*
Same here! Out in the yard all afternoon long -- so productive. Lots of planting and planning done. Much trimming, weeding, mowing, raking and watering --all on this GORGEOUS day! ('Specially in comparison to yesterday, sheesh....!)
By the way, if you should need any more tomatoes -- my dad has some looking for homes....
Ooh..tomatoes... I could probably use a couple plants. I only have 4 right now. I'm not planting the usual 10 or so plants this year. The past couple of years I have lost most of them before the fruit is ripe. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong! I'm afraid I introduced a disease into the soil in the big garden. Although...the peppers don't seem to be effected, and they should be. Ooh..peppers...do you think he has extra peppers? I could really use some sweet peppers. I have no sweet pepper plants right now.
And that's a shame about the tomatoes! I hope they don't die on you this year ....
(Damn, I'd sure like to glean from that University heirloom tomato/pepper field again this season like I did last year -- what a windfall! We still have lots of ketchup, chili sauce -- althoguh the spaghetti sauce( some of which is heating up on the stove right now in fact) --is about all finished (should have figured that would be the case and made more!) Plus. I froze bad after bag of chopped green and red peppers last fall -- would you believe it's already all gone?!)
