heheheh I wouldn't have been hurted, I would have probably been deaded. :P It's always a risk going down there, but I don't play it safe all the time. :)
Okies...but play it safe til after the wedding? ^_^
Mom's almost done with the dresses. Heather tried her's on yesterday and mom had to make some adjustments, but GOD, it looks SO damned cute on her. ^_^ My ladies are going to be so pretty in their dresses!! ^_^
We may have to make a trip up to you for a fitting....I'll let you know as soon in advance as I can. ^_^
You're coming clear up here? Maybe I could come down before the wedding or something. I can't afford to make a separate trip, but would feel bad if you came up all the way here just for me. My measurements are smaller, I should send you them, maybe that's enough? I know nothing about sewing. :P
You may know all this already, but I really dig 'em and can't seem to pass up an opportunity to babble about them.
In Nat.Am. mythology, they represent illusion. (and there's a story that coyote tricked Dragon into something so small as an insect, and got stuck there, i.e., Dragonfly.
In Eastern traditions, they're the Being who caries the soul to the land of the dead.
And you probably know that they morph, like butterflies, but are aggressive water nymphs instead of holing up in a cocoon... They're aggressive predators, top of the insect chain... They can, but rarely, bite people. I've only heard of one person getting bitten, and he was trying to kill a big 'un... Their presence in amber says that they were likely dinosaur contemporaries...
Cheers for dragonflies! :) I have some funny stories about them, including one with 21 turkeys. That's a story for another day. :P They are so awesome.
It's funny you say that about the Eastern tradition as someone told me that they thought Zoe had become a dragonfly right after she died. It *was* kind of strange because an hour or so after she was put down there was a dragonfly that was at my side for a couple of hours while I was outside. If I sang, it would come up right next to my face. Zoe always liked my voice. Don't have any idea if it's true or not, but the dragonfly helped give just the tiniest sliver of cheer to a horrible day.
I didn't know about their development stages...that's pretty cool.
I don't think this one was trying to bite me - it was more like a game of hide n seek or something.
Dey is pretty. :) One of the reasons I used to like going to the falls near Winchendon was the dragonflies. They filled the air there, and were as many different colors as you could imagine.
Dragonflies rock. They're actually far older than dinosaurs; they go back to the Carboniferous period, some 300 million years ago, when some of them had 28-inch wingspans.
Your swimming hole sounds delightful; I wish I'd been there instead of troubleshooting computers at a radio station in Maine.

It is - I made sure this year I swam a few times. I have had errant summers for several years now and I am trying to have a real one this time.
