I have tried many diffrent brands if foundation, from liquid to powder, sensitive to combo and EVERYTHING breaks me out! Even if i only use it when i go out ( once a week) i still breakout.
I want yo wear makeup, i like to wear it but at this point i think i should give up and just focus on eye and lips only, what do you think?

foundations, skin care: general, skin care: acne

Do you wear anything under your foundation? A teacher in a class I took was really big on applying some sort of lotion first ("in upward sweeping motions") because she said it was better to fill in your pores with moisturizer than foundation. But that was 24 years ago.... But I still do it.

Have you tried BB Creams? The ones I've tried are significantly less oily and irritating than most liquid foundations, and they're still good for evening out skin tone. They're kind of like tinted moisturizers.

BB Cream is "Blemish Balm," and I'm extremely pale, as well. In fact, most companies don't make shades light enough for my skin, including MAC and MUFE :-/

I wear Missha's Signature BB cream in the palest shade, and I've actually noticed a big improvement in the little bit of acne I get around my chin since I switched from foundation. MAC just started selling one online, but I haven't tried it yet.

are you using a primer with your foundation? that will make a huge difference. What brand of foundations have you tried? I found alot of products made me break out also, namely MAC and that crap MUFE HD that everyone loves to death.
The only things I can wear on my face are Nars or Laura Mercier. Maybe check those brands out. Do you have any allergies that you know of? Alot of foundations are formulated with silicone, which is a pretty common allergen.

If you're looking for a good drugstore brand foundation, try physicians formula. They're loose mineral foundation is really nice and great for sensetive skin. Try skipping the primer and see if that is what is irritating you. If you're only wearing foundation once a week then a primer isn't entirely nessecary.

Have you tried mineral makeup? And I DON'T mean Bare Minerals (stay away from that stuff if you have sensitive skin). I have ridiculously sensitive skin, and I'm allergic to SO many common makeup ingredients. I tried mineral makeup because I figured the fewer ingredients, the better my chance against a reaction. Thankfully, that worked :) I now use Buff'd Minerals and a super-soft kabuki brush (Too Faced), and now I only break out when I get SUPER stressed, but that's not very often.

Aside from that, are you sure it's the makeup? What face wash and moisturizer do you use? I had to switch to Cetaphil to help my skin. Yeah, it's cheap and boring, but it helped me out quite a bit.

P.S. I just saw your comment about being pale, hahaha, I feel your pain! You may want to give Buff'd a try- they have super-cheap samples, and they had foundations that were too pale for ME-- that's never happened before, I was really surprised.

Oh my god I love them so much. They'll have a match for your skin tone, doesn't matter what it is! Seriously, they have a jillion choices. Try the "Light" formula first, and see if your skin does okay with it (it's the most gentle formula). And I know you said you were really pale, but I recommend trying a sample of Pale, Fair, and Light in your skin tone because the "Pale" is REALLY pale (I'm Casper and I use "Fair").

Their samples are $1.75 each, but they'll last awhile, and shipping is like $1, IIRC. They ship from B.C., Canada, but I'm in Atlanta, GA and I receive my orders in 6 days (not bad for all the way across the country!). And they always send little "freebie" samples with your order (I love that).

Let me know if I can help with the skin tone choices; I tried all the tones except for "Cool" and "Olive" when I was trying to find my match (which is Beige-Fair; I have "redhead" skin tone XD )

What are you using to REMOVE the makeup?

Also, be sure you're avoiding talc, mica and mineral oil - those are the #1 ingredients that break out most faces, including mine. They're also cheap fillers that are used in just about everything that comes from the drugstore, and most powders :-/

You need to make sure that you're using a cleanser every night that fully removes the makeup, does NOT dry your skin out, and does not irritate or cause your skin to break out ( ... )
