Pressing Fyrinnae....

Nov 10, 2008 00:50

Has anyone had any luck pressing Fyrinnae shadows? I have over 100 of them and have been doing a lot of on-location makeup lately and really need to make it more travel-friendly.

I tried to do some with alcohol and it didn't end well. Heh.

brands: fyrinnae, pressing pigments

did you try purchasing the powder modifier from Fyrinnae? I think Coastal Scents has something of the sort too but I do recall Fyrinnae being one of the first companies selling a powder modifier than allows pressing mineral pigments... It's basically a binder (usually glycerin) and alcohol mix, I'm not sure if there's anything else in it but I know those are key ingredients. Mica powders don't press well without a binder and its best to purchase the modifier instead of tampering it on your own (lol speaking from bad experiences) because the wrong quantity of the binder sometimes will make the e/s never dry.

if you google it, there should be a few tutorials on it on specktra and one on MUA :)

I tried before realizing I needed a binder in combination with the alcohol. That didn't turn out so well! I will try again some day with a binder, I've been thinking about getting the pressing medium from Coastal Scents.
