i second the shu curler. it's a godsend. if i want a more dramatic curl, i hold it under my blow dryer on the low setting for 5-10 secs. works better than a heated eyelash curler.:-)

i have shiseido (or however they're spelt) they do a great job of curling but once mascara goes on it gets flat :(

Me too!

Someone mentioned in another group that I'm in, asian_beauty, that Shiseido's mascara base really holds the curl well.

OH, my tip try Shu Emera eyelash curler. Supposedly it was made mostly for the Asian eyelashes.

hm... so is sheido..
i feel like my problem is not my lashes curling. my curler curls beautifully and stays put if i don't put any mascara on.. however i've been blessed with no lashes & short ones lol so i need to wear mascara when i'm wearing makeup. so after it curls i put on mascara, it gets straighten.... think its because mascara is drowning down my lashes?

Fellow asian to help! I usually turn to falsies. but if I'm in a hurryl, I curl my lashes for at least 30 seconds. apply two different mascaras (one for volume and one for length). mine tend to fall flat after this too. so then, I recurl them until I get the desired effect and make sure there's no clumps by brushing them with a clean mascara wand. hope this helps.

so you curl then after your mascara???? isn't that bad and a big no no for ur lashes? i hear it breaks... i'm scared to try it... ok i lied ive tried it once... it clumped my lahses like no tomorrow!!!!!
i should try to curl for at least 30 seconds so 1.5 mins in total lol

my eyelashes are alright with the curling post-mascara. but if you don't want to try that, then I agree with the more extreme curling pre-mascara. =P

i swear by it. it's from this brand called fasio and your eyelashes will stay curled the whole day. it's intensely waterproof too, so i go swimming with it and everything :)
