Bare Escentuals is so NOT worth it for me. The Bismuth in it was notttttt good. It made me itch and stuff. Yuck.
I really liked Alima (alimacosmetics.com) becuase the color match and finish was great. However, my skin doesn't seem to like it that much even without the bismuth (although it doesn't hate Alima nearly as much as it HATED BE)...I have to stick to my Estee Lauder to kee my skin happy.
I work for Laura Mercier and the mineral foundations the line has are AMAZING. I'd been using Bare Minerals for about two years, and as soon as I started at my counter I ditched all the BE stuff I had. They're 35 dollars and like 5-6 times the size of BE's foundations. Go to a counter near you and tell them you're interested, they'll do the whole 9 yards.
5-6 times the size of a BE foundation? I couldn't use that much in a decade! I've had my BE for a year or so and have barely dented it. I don't wear it everyday, and not a lot then, but wow.
wow! it sounds great lol. i've seen that brand at sephora, where else do they have counters? i'm excited b/c there's this girl that posts at mac_cosmetics that uses one of the silk foundations & her skin is FLAWLESS looking & i've been wanting to check that particular foundation out, but it's like $40 for a bottle
Some Macy's have counters. The silk creme foundation is amazing with the primer underneath it. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy and it doesn't cake up. It is expensive, but it lets your skin breathe and a little goes a long way. It's my favorite foundation evarrr. The blushes and highlighters are awesome too. The highlighters have 4 colored triangles and they double as eyeshadow.
It's a very high end line, but it's sooooo worth it!
I love my bare minerals! I have very dry skin, though; someone with oily might have a different experience. I love the way it goes on so very sheer; finishing my skin, not covering it.
I would never bother with the kit unless all the colors were colors I'd buy anyway. I prefer to choose my blush myself, and the other colors are just not necessary to me.
the kits come w/ different shades of foundation or different blushes? i have drier skin... does that type of foundation make your skin look flakey or anything?
yeah i've seen this asked before. i know i've answered it a few times lol.
but i hated bare minerals (made by bare escentuals) i got a free makeover with it at a local ulta and i bought the kit, thinking wow it looks great... and basically it did... for like an hour. And then it got blotchy and made me break out, it didn't stay on very well.. ive had alot of problems with it.
My kit came with two foundations and their "warmth" (bronzer) color and a brush, and they gave me a mini kubuki brush for free. But seriously, i really don't like it at all. it depends solely on your skin type.
i hate getting makeovers w/ foundation b/c i know that they'll get mad if i don't buy it and i don't like buying it until i go home and check myself out after hours of wearing it cause that's what always happens! can you return that stuff?
